They are excellent ,I got rid of the 452`s ,there is no comparison. They are even being used for sprinting.

I have them Mac. A million times better in the wet and surprisingly very good in the dry.
I also managed 2.1's to 60 foot and a terrible cold surface at York in Easter.

This ( http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Uniroyal/Rainspo... ) suggests that only real down side is that they don't last too long. I guess this isn't as much of an issue on a vehicle that doesn't do too many miles anyway.

I had a pair of quite old Toyos on the back and on full power the back end would start to slide or wheel spin or both.
Followed everybody's advice on here and fitted the Rainsport 3s. Amazing traction for an all rounder. thumbup

I have them on my Saab. Many many miles in wet and dry, and they cope with anything, shifting monsoon lakes at speed with no drama. Great dry grip too, due to the soft compound.
My Saab fronts, on a nearly 2 tonne front wheel drive car, lasted 21,000 miles. Rears still had 7mm at that point. So not something that should bother you, or the average TVR driver, overly.

This suggest the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2's are much better................. just saying wink

And the 3's are even better

scratchchin Thing is I'm looking for experiences when fitted to a TVR and not heard much of Good Year having done so. My logic is;
Soft compound
Soft sidewalls
sizes to fit front and rear in profiles I need.
being good in the wet is a bonus as when driving to Italy last year we had two days of heavy rain through France and it wasn't exactly enjoyable and I'm off to France again this year for Lemans classic. High mileage tyres is of no concern, staying on the road is. Most reviews are from daily hacks and heavier cars.
Seems a fair few votes on here for the Uniroyals.

I would go for a fast road / semi track tyre like Yoko AD08Rs or Toyo R1Rs for your beast Mac.

Thanks Mathew, I would do but they don't do the front profile I need. Hence my problem.

My tyre man recommended the T1R's over the Rainsport 3 as the latter tyre had the softer tyre wall.
He's owned Noble's M3s Ferraris etc and knows his stuff
After a couple of hundred miles and one hillclimb at Harewood I would recommend them too.

Ive not experienced Rainsport 3's but ive read enough to tell me if its mostly road driven in varying conditions then they seem to be the tyre of choice.
I have the Rainsport 2's fitted on mine and another family car and they are a great all round tyre.

Toyo T1R are not available in either the front or the rear profiles required.

Get the rainsports Mac. You will like them.
You have those MTs when you require ultimate grip at the strip.

Can I ask if you set your front shockers soft when at Shakey?
