What is considered the correct tyre size for a front 17" wheel
Depends on who you speak to.I have used 215/45 17 fronts and 235/45 17 rears without any issues, but the 235 can be close to the rear bodywork.
Some recommend 225 and 245 - all I can say is that 245 would catch on the arches at the rear on my car, and 225/45 17 fronts in Toyo R1Rs do catch on full lock on the head lamp access panels.

R1Rs are, I believe, a tad wider/squarer shouldered than standard road tyres

Why not Toyo 888 , its what I needed to get some traction, with the tcs switched on it will drive in a straight line although you can feel the tcs working !!
Forgot to say I am still on standard rears for the orignal look
Because I can't get them in the sizes I need.Forgot to say I am still on standard rears for the orignal look
