All set for York, rounds 2 and 3 of NSCC.
I managed to win round 1 as only 3 of us stayed on after the rain!

I put my repaired diff back in yesterday and have driven only around the block and onto the trailer.
Hoping all is well.

The first challenge completed. I drove from my digs for the night to the Knaresborough cruise and back and the car never broke once even through a hailstorm.
To the drag strip early tomorrow. Fingers crossed for good weather.

Shakedown run was 12.6 at 111 with no grip.
Qualifier for NSCC, just a mild burnout ran 12.16 at 114.25 so chuffed with that!

I noticed the AFR was 12.9 at WOT so have just added a couple points to the top of the fuel table.

Shame it's raining a little now. Hopefully will dry up again soon.

Sounds sensible but I get the impression Derek is an all or nothing kind of guy!

Good luck sir.

A race class that I somehow managed to win in 2009 called the Hotrod Challenge has been resurrected this year so I have just ran a qualifier.

11.999 at 114.55
There was a 0-60 camera in this lane too. I was timed at 3.699

The track never warmed up and burn outs didn't improve my mid 1.8 60 foot times.
Still happy to have run another couple of 12.1's and got through to the semi final in NSCC
Off to the pub now for roast beef and a beer.
Round 3 tomorrow.
If the track plays ball I am hoping for an 11.8

I drove the car on the cruise 14 miles to the pub where we had the usual fantastic roast dinner, then 14 miles back. It's the first real time I've got to test the car on the road with the new engine and roll cage. Despite now sitting ridiculously low in the car to gain headroom to the cage I enjoyed the drive. It feels rock solid now and handling is much improved. The engine pulls superbly from 2500 rpm and steps up from 4000. I change gear at 6200 on track but feel it could Rev to a lot higher if I needed to. Only gripe is shunting if trying to drive below 1800 rpm.

Ran 2 qualifiers. I was offered some royal purple octane boost so threw it in the tank.
NSCC ran 12.07 at 114.84
Hotrod ran 11.95 at 116.27

Both on a cold track with minimum burnout.
Just seems to be getting stronger and quicker so am happy to say the least.

Fair play and well-done - always liked the idea of doing a Tiv based rod... a channelled and raked Cerbera would look the mutts yes
