Is that the standard 072 battery? This is interesting, the only thing putting me off is that my 072 is only 12 months old so I don't want to waste it
It's whatever came out of the footwell, transferred straight to the boot. I'll try to remember to take a picture over the weekend a post it.

Here we are then. If you look closely on the second pic you'll see it's an 072

Can anyone tell me where I can get a PC925 mounting cradle in UK. I made my own but not very happy with it.

I bought a PC925 cradle from Ebay in the end. I was nervous that it wouldn't fit but its actually quite good.

Just getting round to mounting it. and wondering what clever solutions you guy came up with to mount the cradle or did you just drill wherever was needed.

I hate drilling extra holes and wherever possible I try and use existing mounting points.

I have the 6 cd changer in the middle above the tank so would prefer to mount it to the right (as you look from the back) hand side.

Cables are already there as I have had the batter mounted in the lower right corner for a few years which was OK but pushed the roof back into the boot somewhat. With a holiday touring Germany coming up I want to relocate it so we don't struggle with luggage.

Make sure that doesn’t clash with the roof panel.
How are you wiring the live? Direct to the passenger footwell, or direct to the starter and let the original cable to the starter carry the current back to the fuse board etc?

I'm moving it so that it doesn't clash with the roof panel LOL.. I'll check it doesn't in its new position though.

The wiring at the front end I did a couple of years ago when I moved the battery to the (wrong place in the ) boot and I honestly can't remember how I did it off the top of my head.

I'm just wondering if, from a mounting point of view, I'm missing something as there doesn't seem an easy wey to mount it without bolting through the rear bulkhead or hanging it from the boot channel.

My TVR guy positioned mine centrally, as I ditched the auto changer several years ago. But he is no slouch, and he bolted it through the fibreglass, small nuts buried in the carpet between my rear speakers. Do remember that you need to be able to get at any fixings easily if you want to take the battery out.

Thanks Qbee.

It seems as if the centre is the only real place where you can mount it if you want to minimise intrusion from the roof.

I didn't want to drill through the bulkhead and have bolts showing so I think I've found a way to create a shelf using the mounting brackets for the 6 cd changer and locating the top by making "ears" from the mounting bracket lugs to stop forward-aft movement.

I was very conscious of the need to be able to access and change the battery if necessary without dismantling the car.

Now I just need a piece of Ally plate at least 420mm X between 35 and 75mm and strong enough to support 10.8 kilos (23.8 pounds) which is the weight according to the Odyssey spec sheet. Sheesh! I didn't realise I was lifting quite that much weight.

Hi
I did the same arrangement on my grif. However the battery was a bit short of power when hot or when having to start more than one time the engine. My cables were abit too thin tough

You do need to use one with enough ooomph, like all car batteries, but also the cables being too thin would definitely be a problem. You may have noticed that a good set of jump leads looks like it could hold up a small suspension bridge

Well it was so stressful that I came back to the original configuration in the passe ger foot space and left the battery in the boot as an emergency solution fitted with an isolator switch. Much better now.
