OK, I am no rocket scientist but not a dummy either but how do I remove my brake light bulb on my 97 Chimaera with the later cluster?

Looking from inside the boot I thought it would be a simple matter of pulling the rubber cover to expose the bulb but it doesn't budge. There are no screws and the larger steel boss appears to be bonded to the fiberglass.

Any help appreciated!

The whole metal housing should unscrew from the lens portion from behind...

Cheers

That's a screw thread you can see on the metal housing

Apart from the fibreglass everything in your picture (metal, rubber, wires) need to rotate anticlockwise to unscrew the light fitting from the bonded in lens.
When you put it back remember to pre-twist the whole lot so when it is screwed back on the wires are no longer twisted.
