I was 44 when I picked up my first (and only) TVR Chimaera six years ago now. I should have done it years before. It was done practically on a whim.

Those side shot photos on the Fernies' website had me in their clutches, there was no use resisting. With Ivan Gelical (thankyou Viz comics) type swirling in my eyeballs and the lucre burning holes in my bank account, I called them up after work on the Friday. Would they please line up these three examples for me and I would make the journey around the delightful M25 in the morning with my trusty old XJR for a part ex.

The only doubt in my mind after a tour was which one, a yellow griff nearly swayed me from the other side of the showroom as well, but the colour was just too much for me. It's interior was amazing in black with the body coloured dials and stitching. £25k in 2010, must have been a good one.

Bought a TVR Tasmin 200 fhc aged 17. Kept that car for a few years, also had and s1 when in early 20's. The most recent was a 350 wedge I sold 5 years ago (aged 30). Had to sell it to buy a house. I sold it to a Guy in Spain. He bought it off a couple of pictures and a description and I sent it out to him! I've just about got the funds together for a cheap Chimaera. Currently looking for something around 7-9000 . I really miss not having a TVR!

Bought mine at 25, now 27 smile Good to see these cars appealing to people of all ages. Can see more young buyers buying into the brand for a few years yet.

Got mine at 40 but loved them from being a wee boy (probably the same for most) (used to pester a friends neighbor when he was polishing his wedge) but I never for one minute thought I would have one, and still can't believe it when I open the garage. (And love it when some young lad pesters me when tinkering

I got my 430 Chimaera when I was 54 and have still got it 13 years later. Sadly I think its time to sell as it's getting difficult getting in and out now. Anyone want a 1993 430 in unrestored original condition...well almost... well it's still reliable and looks OK

Yes somewhere on my computer however I'll take some new ones. It's getting it's annual touch up underneath on the metalwork, a new clutch, new discs and pads, battery and alternator and an MOT so might be a week before it's back at ground level. All the normal fun of owning a TVR however at least it's quite a buzz for the buck unlike most cars!

I got my first Chim two years ago aged 27, a 1996 4.0 in Etna black pearl with Tuscan lights. Sold it to put a deposit on our wedding and sort some house stuff.

Always said I'd have another after the wedding was sorted.

So I just bought one (I'll start a separate thread soon) It's a 1994 4.0 in a lovely red colour, only 55'000 miles too.

Cool wink

I always enjoy these newbie threads, I've had my car about 5 years and I still feel like a newbie and new owners constantly remind me of the day I got mine, it still seems like yesterday in many ways and what a day it is when you collect a new Tvr or the one that you've really wanted for awhile.
Congratulations and I'll look forward to your thread thumbup
