I found these guys today, have spoken with them and they seem confident that they can repair the pitting and re chrome both the petrol cap and door handles.

I'm sending them off for a quotation, I'll keep you informed.

Could be worth dropping a line below if it looks like it may fly - from useful links

TVR S Series Fuel Filler Cap - Seal
The Sunbeam Rapier Owners Club have a quantity of Fuel Filler Cap Seals available 3.50 each including postage.
These are for TVR S Series that share the same filler flap as the Fastback Rapier/Alpine/H120.
They are brand new items made of fuel resistant 'Nitrile'. They are a perfect fit & just like the original. It is a potential MOT failure if your car's one is perished & it's a simple job to replace.
Order from the clubs Fastback Spares Sec., Glen Mason, telephone 01225 777771
Pay Pal also accepted - payments to sroc.fastback.spares@hemscott.net

Update,
I received a call from them to say it arrived safely and that the inspection had been carried out. This was a couple of weeks ago. They saw no problems with repairing and rechroming it.
Costs were discussed and the go ahead given, I should receive it back this coming week.

If it comes up well, I can see them getting a bulk order...... Prices will probably go up (as usual)

I wouldn't bank on it, each one is a separate repair, unlike making something where once machine is set up it's as easy to knock out ten as it is one scratchchin

But, you never know !

As Philpot says it's all to often a case of supply and demand.

I don't think the price they have quoted is unreasonable given the rarity of the caps, i should imagine having a new one machined would be well over double the price ... and some.

They also do the door handles, something i'll consider if the cap comes back OK.

A before and after pic, if im super critical there are a couple of polishing swirls in the finish but other than that it looks great, well worth giving these guys a go.

Beat me to it, couldn't find any clues of pricing in the thread or on their site!
