Stumbled across this in a magazine today, looks the same. Would not associate them with poor quality parts either, may be good just to keep as a spare in the boot to get you out of trouble.

A lot of these chinese copies (I presume they are) are actually good quality/reliable I have fitted a few on various cars where customers have supplied their own via Ebay etc initially I was skeptical but over a few years now I have not seen one fail from BMW's to VW's

Probably the one component I would not want to skimp on!
What are they about £40?

Item number 171741104403 on eBay you just need an earth fitting as well but the work well and give more realistic readings.

Are there no 1/4" thread ones? I noticed mine looks like it has a 1/8" with an enlarging adaptor on it. This can't help with reading accuracy can it? Wouldn't a sender with a 1/4" thread than can go straight in be better?
Sorry forgot to say, thanks for posting the link! smile Will order one anyway. Can't find any 1/4" at the mo.

My cheap EBay sender lasted 5 years, sure it leaked for the last two years but it was still giving accurate readings right up to when I removed it last weekend.

When I was exploring oil pressure senders I created this post:

This post is how I know for sure it lasted five years and it only cost me £13.90 at the time wink

There really is no need to pay £70 for one from a TVR parts specialist, the cheapo one of EBay gave me a much more accurate reading and saved me £56, who cares if it needs replacing every five years if it only costs £13.90?

I bet the expensive TVR parts one wouldn't last any longer than that anyway rolleyes
