I am considering getting the mark 3 headlamp covers fitted to my Car,Has anyone had them fitted and by whom?
I am based in the Midlands so someone nearby would be great..
my Bodywork guy (who is 1st class at paint) has offered but he hasn't done one before and as I am fairly fussy about things Im not sure about Humphrey being his 1st!
Any ideas?

I am looking at the same, particularly after stripping down the original arrangement which just gets dirty and tarnishes.......I popped over to Central TVR who look to have a good offering with 7" sealed beam along the lines of the original MK3. I noticed that some of the kits available elsewhere do not use sealed beam arrangement but have the exposed reflectors.

I am based in Rugby, I see you are in Northants...

I am in Kettering,I have called in at Central but they don't fill me with confidence and the reviews are hit and miss.
If you are considering it maybe we could get a bulk deal?!!!!!

Have a chat with Sportmotive. Lots of Griff's have had work done there (7" Headlamp Conversion), and always good recommendations. They also offer the Mk3 Conversion on the Chim.

If you have the time I would consider the DIY route. I had zero experience of this type of work but found it straight forward if time consuming. A cheap dremel type mini grinder was all that was needed.

As long as you don't have any accidents no paint is required, other than the internal bowls.

A few excellent guides on here.

What colour are the bowls, body colour or they look black?

Body colour but I have seen black. Combination of light and crap iPhone camera makes them look darker.

Yes, that's a possibility.....I may go for the diy option, but no reason not to go for a bit of discount.....

Anyone got a Crystal Verde with MK3 lamp conversion? Not sure if there is smoked or clear options......Dark colours look good with either smoked or clear, not sure about the lighter colours?

I believe that is a different style kit to the ones pictured here so far but I am sure the steps are similar.

Mk3 faired headlights by Surface & Design cloud9

http://www.surfaceanddesign.com/

If you didn't know already the conversion uses Mk1 Golf headlight units, I uprated mine by fitting the latest generation LED H4 bulb replacement units and a set of PIAA LP270 LED driving lights which delivers a huge improvement in output and brings the lights up to new car standards.
