In the picture the paint code on this car is P422.
Your car could be Solent silver as many have been resprayed so it could be a posh one.[url]

Well got the code.... R2843.... and apart from a fleeting reference to Solent Silver on the internet there appears to be no listing for it :-(Your car could be Solent silver as many have been resprayed so it could be a posh one.[url]

The TVR paint databases don't list it, TVRpaint.com haven't even got the code on their "rare paints" database.
The PH link also does not list it...........

Could not get anyone to find Massala let alone match my colour. Phoned them in Brighton and within a minute had it on their database. They sent a can of spray paint (Nexa) and its a good match - 400ml delivered for £19.
If they cannot see it on their main database, it will be in their books. Found them very, very helpful.

My car is also Colour code P422. But I do not find it in the list above?
Can someone tell me the colour please.
Try this list. It is the alternative version from the main one listed at the top of the main TVR section. Can someone tell me the colour please.

Up and running, been out a few miles now, around 200 or so.
Found the threads on fuel pipes over no 8 cylinder...ooeerr .. one new one other definitely iffy as pointed out by my chimaera owning mate.
It's the back one over the gearbox so got some new pressure rated pipe and changed it, my chiropractor says I should be ok again in a few weeks :-)
Next up is fuel filter change followed by gearbox oil and rear dif oil change.
Acquired set of wheels two front 15" and two 16" wheels with Goodyear tyres on ( 5/6 mm) with the intention of changing fronts to 16".
Anyone know if a 5mm spacer will allow fitment to sort the offset and how big a disk I can fit under 16 wheels?
Not sure what I am going to do with the spare 4 x 15" wheels though, build a kart?!!

Wheels - someone is bound to kerb theirs and want yours as an alternative to refurbing, if yours are in decent nicholas.Found the threads on fuel pipes over no 8 cylinder...ooeerr .. one new one other definitely iffy as pointed out by my chimaera owning mate.

Spacers - 5mm is fine, will make the fronts ET28 against ET25 per the factory - not enough difference to worry about. I have been running Ford fit ET38s with 5 mm spacers for yonks with no noticeable ill effects.
If you get an 8mm spacer be aware that you will need longer wheel studs - anything over 5mm spacers requres longer studs with my wheels. It would be wise to check how many turns of the wheel nut thread you have left after fitting the spacers - less than about 8 and you need longer studs. I have had a wheel come off a trailer (with my TVR on the back) after using a spacer - it was not a fun experience.
Disk - I think you can get a 300 mm disk under 16s no problems - I have a 324mm disk under 17s with no issues, but it depends on the size of the calliper. Others will have advice on this, as they have done the conversion with 16s. 300mm is more than adequate for road use.
Yep what Anthony said
I've got 16" Estorils all round with 5mm spacers on the front, and I've had 300mm rotors on with 4 pot calipers, plenty of clearance.... I think you can see them in my profile pic...
I also have 4 x 15" rims 2 of them are currently residing at V8D's place... Maybe we could start some kind of 15" wheel club or something

Today was a good day, well almost.
Nipped up to X works to get the gearbox / diff oil done (I really need a two poster !) Diff oil was well black and smelly, fuel filter changed too... plus a change of the "u bend" from standard "TVR wrong size" to a much better version, in the power steering pipe work as it had decided it wanted to weep all over the exhaust creating a smog like effect when at traffic lights!
Unfortunately a few other things have reared their heads, arb bushes shot, diff bushes shot, steering rack gaiters shot and to top it all, on the way home, the engine pushed 100 C (according to the gauge) with fans on in extremely heavy uphill traffic.......
Radiator now pissing water big time, ( was leaking slightly anyway)... so guess what I am doing this weekend !
Ah, well, looks like TVR ownership is something akin to all the other projects in life !! erm, interesting :-)

Rather than buy a new radiator, consider getting your current one re-cored. The alloy replacements have been known to crack rather quickly, from all I have read.
I heard that too, only recently in fact. Do you know what the problem is? Are the mounts done up "too tight" ?
its a big rad and looks to have two mount points at the top left/right and I presume sitting on rubber bushes / pins at bottom?
Any tips for taking it out?
is there enough room to leave the fans on whilst getting it out?
I can strip it when its out of the car hopefully and zip it upto our local rad specialist for a recore.
I have read a theory, which may well be correct, that with the alloy ones, if the fixings are done up too tight they can crack. I vaguely remember they are bolted on bobbins at the bottom, but don't quote me on that.
My expert was adamant that I should re-core the old one when mine was holed by a flying stone.

Removal can be done with fans on, it's quite heavy with the cowls in place. Maybe get someone to assist but I can remove and install my alley rad on my own fairly easy.
Just remove the two retaining nuts and it should slip back and away from rubber bobbins then just pull it up and out of the two locating lugs at the bottom.
So the "too tight" theory seems to hold water .... unlike the radiator :-)
Thanks ClassiChimi, it will be out tomorrow morning... another job to tick off later next week hopefully !
Still, looking at the list of jobs that covered three A4 pages I seem to be down to,,,, erm, three A4 pages... how does that work then??? !!!!!!

Interesting enough I bought a Chimaera 450 over the last few days although mine seems to have led a more pampered and charmed existence. It's a Mk3 with just over 25,000 miles.
That looks a tidy one ! bit further along the production line than mine though! and less miles... still that means you have plenty of scope for adding a lot more without issue??!!
So that's three silver ones already , mine is supposedly "solent silver" really? is there any way to find out the true colour and also how many cars / silver were produced?
