Hi, I'm replacing the heat shielding prior to dropping the body back on.
Could anyone recommend the best glue?
I'm assuming that most re pop rivet with the small washers as per the factory stuff removed?
Cheers

Also did a body off project and took the oppertunity to replace the heat shields. Used high temperature contact adhesive from Car Builder Solutions and used small stainless washer with pop rivets as factory.

Thanks, presume you drilled new pop rivet holes? Almost impossible to hit the originals I suspect?

Yes, new holes..as you say pretty impossible to hit the originals.....it's a bit disappointing after you spend all the time installing them as you see very little of them when it's all back together.....

Not really. Just cut the new piece using the old as a template, then sit in the engine bay and pop rivet one or two in at one end. Then get a point punch (little one) and see the hole, lay over the material and punch it through. The holes will be seen in the foil covering. I did a grid at a time and glued it with spray on adhesive. Had quite a bit left over so did the whhole transmission tunnel biggrin
But because Photobucket has st itself this evening, I can't show you any pics.

I used the pre made sections and found that they weren't exactly the same shape as the originals, so the original holes weren't in the right places particularly along the top and round the clutch master cylinder cover. All looks good now though with a bit of adjustment.

I have used this product , they do different sizes , cut out 1cm oversize and fold over to give nice edges. Works fine with the high temp glue.
