Rear diff issues

Hi

I've only driven my 96 chimaera a few times and it always seems to be in highway stop no go traffic. I've noticed that sometimes it feels like the diff is binding up on occasion when I'm doing low speed lane changes. . My diff has 97k on it. At speed it seems fine. What are common diff issues or symptoms I should keep an eye an ear open for.

My mechanic mentioned it has a lot of backlash or play in it.

Thats not the diff look elsewhere and they all have lash both BTR and GKN
