Oil Pressure Gauge

How can I check for a short on the wiring between sender and gauge? As soon as ignition is switch on the gauge goes off scale, but no warning light so assuming pressure is OK. I took out the bulb to take the attached photo and the gauge operated normally and then went off scale again.....Gauge has three connections plus the bulb wiring as attached photo, apologies for blurry image. Thanks....

Unplug the single terminal from the sender unit behind the crankshaft pulley and then see what occurs

I had this on my wedge was on it for weeks till I just changed it to the Pipe system lot accurate. Colin
