So Biddie's mirrors have never worked since I bought her. I did try another relay in the drivers door whilst taking off the cards for the first time and a new rocker switch but to no avail. When I took off the door card for a second time and removed properly, I noticed that the plugs were round the wrong way....someone before me was a serial bodger...if something didn't come off they just yanked it until it did and if it pulled half the fibreglass with it then tough....so I'm putting this down to them.

Anyway I wired in the trickle charger tonight and thought I'd have another go at the mirrors. So I put the relay back in the drivers door and blow me if it started working smile I hadn't thought of putting in the old relay again when I swapped the plugs back to their rightful positions...due to being busy with other jobs...or just plain stupid...probably the later.

But.....the passenger side doesn't work! Drivers good up,down and side to side but when I select the passenger side I get clicking on up and down but no click side to side and obviously movement at the mirror full stop?

I'm not thinking motor at the minute due to the lack of clicking side to side when passenger selected...could it be the new rocker switch is faulty or the relay still? My electrical skills are not the best (I blag it) but I'm determined to get this sorted.

Any ideas anyone?

If your sure the wiring is correct on the passenger door, then I would say the motor, as luck would have it, I have a spare motor, your welcome to have it

I'm going to check the wiring passenger side first.

Thanks very much for your offer, much appreciated.

The clicking is probably the relay that switches from up/down to right/left or vice-versa. That is how it works on my V8S.

Big thanks to Dave for kindly sending me a spare mirror motor at his own cost.

Did that solve it? My comment was to suggest the motor might be confused as to the position of the glass, and a bit of manual adjustment of the glass may be all that is required.

Not sure yet Anthony, I've checked the electrics and all seems fine to the conns in the passenger door, so I'm giving it a go this weekend....maybe even tomorrow as I'm not at the office. I'll be sure to feed back so the facts are straight for others who may see this in the future.
