I have a big-time hankering for one of Clive F's equal length manifolds ... he's done a 'less expensive' version of the original which doesn't look as much like a sackful of snakes shagging but still sounds bloody awesome.

I wish there was a better video than this...

I'll concede the more powerful it is the better it sounds and yours is rather powerful wink

Vantage V12 ??? Or are you just winding em up on another thread hehe
No no no Al, they were talking about what second hand motors you could get for £75-80k or thereabouts and mentioned Lambo and Pork.... at that price you could just about get a V12 Vantage... I'm a complete British car nut... I (now) have no interest in a Ferrari... a Lamborghini... a Porsche... or an Audi R8... My Father is English through and through, my Mother is half Scots and half Irish, I have worked overseas in many places, I love Italian food and style, I have many friends there, I love France, (if not all the people wink ) and much of their culture.... I worked in Germany for a while, and it can be quite scary how much like us they can be...

But, at the end of the day, I'm an Englishman through and through, and proud of it.... And so, my garage has an MG, a TVR, and an Aston in it....

Er, sorry, went a bit OT there... wink

Not at all smile
You could complete your collection with this bd hehe it's fast, well for me anyway, but that's not the point is it, with all these great British things it's a style that can't be bought, I actually imagine you wearing a Tux and going out to dinner in the Aston hehe priceless, a nice meal then cruising home in the Vantage, I'm sure I'd actually become Bond biglaugh
Anyway here's a nice bike that I've had offers on but won't sell hehe

British is best

Thread hi jack.
They all sound good and often the same set up sounds different on different cars smile

That's just an outrage smile
I'm tripping hehe

What's so important about equal length manifolds that someone with more talent than you can point a stick at creates those monster looking things, like the limbs of a Doctor who creature,
Chimaera, A mythical beast made of many different parts
It's perfect isn't it.
How much for one or should I say two of those. thumbup

I've just clicked on Clives page, naughty,,, shiny looking things, close!
I'll have a proper Ganda when my wallets well away from me. smile

It's what us knee down wheelie pulling proper blokes need, not like yer gay big handle bar belt drive only wear down the centre of the tyre not the outside face moisturising after shave wearing poofs with designer underwear never ever got oil on my clothes kind of ghey poofta mincing effeminate gender questionable half wit... er....

£2,400 including the very annoying TAX from what I remember ...

...is it really wrong to be thinking that's quite reasonable and already have the space reserved on the credit card for one?

The ACT pipes with Clive's Y is easily the best sound, but living with it would be another matter, although the car I drove with that set up was not loud in the car at all, again it all seemed to be behind you and away from your ear drums!

One day my car might become a weekend toy rather than a regular work horse, I'd go for the Act Cherry bomb set up all day long although I'd not be able to do a trackday!
On my blue car it has the ACT cherry bomb pipes and ACT decat Y piece. 114 db at Sneterton from memory on one cold morning and just got through with Peters industrial size bolt on cans. Always needed to add bolt on cans at the tracks I took it to and also managed to set off the occasional car alarm as well.

However, never found it obtrusive or tiring on the motorway.

The same can not be said for pre-cats out, decat Y piece and standard silencer on ,y current car. It sounds good when giving it the beans but the world goes by a bit to fast to be doing that all the time and is a pain on a long journey to the point that I am thinking of making it ultra antisocial and full sleeve and accept that Mrs B will never go in it again

Hi Graham
That's exactly my problem with standard exhaust, it's deep drone when at cruising speeds gets at you in the end, I did France with the standard exhaust and I was done for after 1000 miles, sleeved I'd have breezed it smile
Saying all this I have a sneaky suspicion not all silencer boxes sound or are the same?

It's very reasonable, like a good piece of art you'll never tire of looking at it, and how fking expensive is art.

A few weeks ago I was thinking I had nothing much more to do to the TVR, how wrong was I!

Mine is as follows:
1. ACT stainless manifolds (so no pre cats)
2. ACT stainless Y piece
3. Standard box

= as quiet as a Peugeot 308 cry

If you want to quieten the exhaust down simply fit a turbo....boxedin

Nooooo......no no don't say quiet!!! I've woken up a couple of times recently in a cold sweat dreaming of picking up mine in March when it gets its turbo treat and it sounding like a Tesla cryrage

Beautiful work then .. as ever.

I would hate it if a few pipes were touching and kept rattling though.

Ahhh, sorry to scare you. getmecoat
Maybe one of the others with a turbo can give an idea of their set up - Mac, Richard 858 or Gary (Pupp) for starters. I should probably just sleeve mine and try it.

I would, it must be far to quiet with that smooth running Turbo fitted hehe

In all seriousness though a Tvr is all about the noise so I am a bit concerned yikes I've already got sleeving in mind but some seem to sound better than others...kittens are already gonzo.

Turbos - they give with one hand, and take with the other.
Stock exhaust : removing precats made no noticeable difference, and I could never tell whether the engine bay ran cooler either, but fitting a decatted Clive F Y piece has got me the perfect sound I reckon. Plus clever ecu for added pops and bangs smile

Fit a little Y section on the end of the downpipe and stick this on the end of it. Set it up to open on WOT and then you'll have loud biggrin
