Evening gents,
I hate putting back in rusty brown bolts & always try to get stainless replacements where possible, im just looking at some pre-made bolt kits on ebay for the chimaera put together by 'RT Racing'. Im not up at the garage at the moment so cant check but theres two different diff types GKN & BTR? Just wondering which one mine would be (93 chimaera pre-serp).

The other question is the bolt kit proposed is bright zinc plated & high tensile.. Now would stainless alternatives have the same strength or is there a reason they arent listed instead of these zinc plated ones?

cheers
Steve

Your diff will almost certainly be the earlier GKN one.

RT Racing in Sheffield are a well respected chassis builder and repairer (they featured on Wheeler Dealers making a new chassis for a Cerbera).

Unless it's been converted it's a GKN,

Cheers gents, appreciated. There bright zinc plated bolts should be more than adequate then (and not rust in the near future i hope)

Yes they're fine, don't use stainless on high stressed areas like shocks and wishbones,
Here's mine

It's nice to know every nut and bolt are shiny and new
