I'm in the process of slowly putting the engine back together. On seeing the slave cylider for the clutch that bolts on to the engine below the starter, I noticed there were two different length bolts. Is this correct? Or have I got my bolts mixed up?
If so, could someone please kindly tell me what size bolts are supposed to go in there?

Many thanks
Cad

Don't remember them being different lengths when mine went in recently, can't help with the size unfortunately.

M8 ?

top looks too short and bottom a bit long. Normal spanner size for M8 is 13mm, bottom one looks like a "special" 11mm spanner?

They are normally the same length.
They are normally Hex socket Cap head.
I think they are UNC.

Bugger frown

If anyone can identify the correct thread, size and length I'd be most appreciative.

Are you measuring the whole bolt or just the thread length?

Thanks for the replies gentlemen. I went and bought 2 x M8 UNF 30mm long, and two 35mm long. Will give them a try tomorrow.

I discovered yet another issue this morning. Went to screw on my shiny new oil filter, and there is nothing to screw it onto frown The adapter/spigot/male thread that sticks out of the oil filter housing was missing. I don't remember undoing it, so it must have come out with the old filter, which is long gone.
Think I've found a place that sells something that is the same - 3/4" UNF threaded tube which is two inches long.

If it's not one thing.....

Bit of a mix up there. There is no such thing as 'M8 UNF'. M8 is a metric thread where UNF is an imperial size.

Just thinking about this. An m8 nut is certainly a good fit on the bolt but no other threads on the engine are metric as far as i know.

Soooo is it m8 or something very similar.

Just been out to have another look. I recon it is M8.

The whole car is a mix of inches vs mm's!

The engine is imperial due to its American origin.
The slave however is bolted to the gearbox hence the metric thread.
