New disks all round, DS2500 pads, shiny new Goodridge hoses, 888 calipers on the front and no idea if brake fluid has moved on in the past 10 years hehe

Is super blue still the stuff to have or have 5.1 fluids improved?

I have been using Halfords Racing brake fluid for the last 8 years.

Untold TDs, sprints and abuse, never a problem. Sensible price as well.

I cooked fresh 5.1 at Snetterton so if I was doing any more would use something better. Non issue now though as I wont be doing any more trackdays in the Chim. I seem to remember some red fluid being recommended but not cheap at around £50 a litre?

What a pain, they don't seem to be doing it anymore.

These are the experts on here. All sorts of brake fluids for different applications. If in doubt either post your question on PH or give them a call. Very helpful people.

I made the mistake of thinking 5.1 was better because it was newer, a lot of the proper dot 4 fluids have higher boiling points than 5.1 so you were generally better buying decent dot 4. I just didn't know if things had moved on since I last had a track car. Will try the opie people thumbup

https://m.gsfcarparts.com/978aa0060? Is I think the blue stuff that we used to use.

I heard that too recently. Although it was for the ZX6R.

One question (sorry for the TH OP) - do you use the same brake fluid for the clutch as well?

Clutch fluid doesn't get anywhere near as hot so "anything" will do, but with the small amount involved probably as easy to use same.
I use what I catch when bleeding brakes, still plenty good enough for clutch, imho.

Carbon Lorraine racing fluid as sold by Brummie here on PH.

Has about the highest boiling point of any fluid I have found.
