Ball Joint Trouble - Ooooh Errr Mrs

Hi All,

I'm just in the process of changing my front ball joints - upper and lower.

On to the final joint - front drivers upper - but would it budge ? Would it buggery.

Bolt is off underneath from up in the square U channel housing.
Cut the rubber gaiter off to get clean contact with the joint and top of the housing.
Smashing away with a splitter fork but it will not budge.
Tried smashing it side to side - no joy there either.

I've put plenty of penetrant fluid on which was disappering down the cone shaft.

Any bright ideas to avoid dismantling the break assembly and arms.

hi plenty of heat on tapered joint thread part then perswade it with bigger hammer works for me every time

Yep, heat on the taper and a swift tap with an even bigger hammer will set them apart. It was this rather than the splitter that got one of mine apart.
