For God's sake... Ian, try and punch some sense in to him....

Should I sell it... should I keep it... I want a Vantage... I love my TVR... I've got Astonitis.. Jesus Christ my TVR is fast... OMG that Aston is beautiful...

Mac, you're having a mid life crises... everyone gets one... especially petrolheads... man the feck up and make a decision you big girls blouse......

If you sell your TVR you will always regret it... If you buy a Vantage you will love it.... If you don't sell the TVR you will always think what you could have bought if you had of done.. If you don't buy a Vantage you will always wish you had...

There is no right or wrong in this.. Do what your heart tells you...

BUT... Do not sell that Chimaera for less than £35k... minimum... that is one stunning example of everything a TVR can be..

It's better than a new car, quicker than just about everything else on the road, stunningly beautiful, and unique...

You don't need an AM....

Just to help, I'll leave this here..... wink

whistle
Oh dear, oh dear oh dear oh dear. Now, she is,,, oh dear now I'm having a crisis.

Mac if your even remotely thinking of an Aston only look at a V12, otherwise you'll be in the Porsche 924 of Astons if your looking at a vantage, and you'll be bored in about 30 mins... that woman has just jumped in with a F430 driver.

When even a 'normally' used Chimaera (in above average condition though IMHO) is reaching these prices, selling has to be a consideration:

...or get a v8 and spend £18k on a gmr supercharge conversion. I went out in their demo car at Autosport this year and geez that puts the car on a very different (600hp) performance level.

Or if your doing v8's get an E90 m3... save 15k and spend 6k of that on a super charger kit and have 650bhp and modern suspension.

I can't argue with that. I've been looking at that route myself lately.

For that money I can't think of much else that would match it.

I do. I run two British cars... the older v8 vantages are bloated, and dynamically not great,.. it's a good way though to cheaply be seen in an Aston Martin. It was Astons attempt to get into a wider market when they released it. Not a lot to get really.

It still weighs a lardy 1600kg - and frankly the handling are not up to 650bhp so why do it? you buy the Aston because it's comfortable, looks gorgeous, sounds gorgeous, but lets not try and pretend it's a fun drive, because its not.

The question is although you want all things - no car is best at everything, so what is the focus?

1 - driving dynamics
2 - sound
3 - power
4 - comfort / usability

My 4 would be (am sure others will disagree)

1 - driving dynamics - Porsche Cayman R or GT3
2 - sound - Aston
3 - power - Skyline
4 - comfort / usability - BMW M3 E92 (the v8)

I think you will miss it. It was quite scary with the back end coming out at over 100mph with ease!!

Your Aston won't do that lol
I think it would be foolish to sell itsilly, as you have just said you would miss it. We are coming out of the dull depressing time of year now and you can enjoy itbiggrin. I wish i could enjoy mine but in the grand scheme of things i'm still alivetumbleweed.
So get out there and enjoy it Mac thumbup

I'd have both if I could, Chilli. Two very different cars.
Enjoy them both, my friend. You only live once, Mr Bond.

Very much so.

Quite disconcerting when you see a Mondeo coming towards you from some distance and you think it's something else!

If you knew anything about Aston Martins, which you clearly don't, you'd know that the Vantage comes in both V8 and V12 guises... you really should read up a bit before you post your pish...
