Thinking of selling

As others and I have said earlier, the joy in owning a TVR is the fact that they can be easily worked on, upgraded and made to go faster more easily than probably any other car. They are just a giant Meccano set .
Once the car is fully complete there is a void that needs to be filled.
Exactly PeteOnce the car is fully complete there is a void that needs to be filled.
Cerb/Tuscan just to say owned one, then regret and wish you kept the Chim LOL

I'm sure you speak for many on here, but I surely can't be the only one on PH or TVR ownership that doesn't have the tools or the Nohow to create and build the beasts you and others do Once the car is fully complete there is a void that needs to be filled.
I've had many hobbies over the years, MotoX a bit of trials,8 years of Rugby,2 x boats and water-skiing,Poker and now more recently enjoy car meetings( Driving to & from is the best bit if I'm honest) but still enjoy most of the events.
But I've never really had an interest in the mechanical side of things, likewise you may find some of my hobbies of little interest (We are all different)
I think what makes it such a difficult decision for Mac,yourself and others who have poured money, blood, sweat and tears into your projects is the thought of doing it all over again. But if this is the challenge and the hobby then I fully understand To me it would be
It's a lot easier for many of us who own standard cars,when/if deciding we fancy a change of car and the new car doesn't end up being quite what you thought then you sell and buy again. That's not so easy for many of you on here unless you want to go through the serious man hours and money all over again.
I really don't envy Mac's position at all because of the what "if" the new car lacks what he has already.
Have a very, very good test drive Mac.
^^^^^^^^ this. Great post
Take that Chim show it and drive a thousand cars Mac,,, test every damn one of them, that's how hard this is.
If it's business and you need to focus on other projects that's a different deal.
If you need a new challenge then good on you really and what a car someone else will enjoy, and enjoy it they will.
Familiarity breeds contempt, I reckon you should cover it up and go do something else for a while.
Your breath will be lost when uncovering it again.
It's stunning man, stunning,,

There is a car that makes TVRs look modern! http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Call me mad but I would absolutely love one of those!
Same here, very people I speak to seem to agree but I have a burning desire to own one. Some of my best memories in cars are the really old crap ones I have owned with skinny tyres and not much power and there is a very good reason. Cars with small engines and skinny tyres are great fun as you can drive them almost anywhere flay out and on the limit and in relative safely. modern cars and even to some extent TVRs you have to go so fast to reach the limit on the wide tyres you simply cannot play with it on the public road.

No way your selling it , it's part of you ! , I sometimes think the same too like every year there is always something to do, one blast in the spring and I think I have missed this. It's bit like a motorbike, you might not always use it but it just has to be there in the garage !!!
Thanks Nigel, I can assure you it is not going to be the easiest of decisions. Got home tonight , sat in garage with a beer (as you do) and just looked at it. Sad to some maybe,,,,,,,,, But sure you understand macdeb said:

Sad to some maybe,,,,,,,,, But sure you understand My beast has given my nearly 7 years of heart ache trying to achieve my goal despite all the potholes i have fallen down, i have finally made it!...and now there is a hole in my life, that endeavor is over and its finally done, it ticks all the boxes i set for the challenge..6 yrs longer than intended and st loads my money than intended...do i sell it now?...Hell No!!...i bought another one to fix up and i'll buy another (something, not sure what yet) but i am never selling Bluebottle, I've invested too much in it (not money).
