Mat Smith has done some work on my windows and they are much better. I did, however, notice that the passenger window is angled inward a bit, so it is not running upwards parallel to the rubber strip. Rather, it is driving in against it so that it is getting stuck.

Can I adjust the position of the window lift mechanism to change the angle at which it comes up?

Does anyone know?

Thanks in advance,

Richard

IIRC the "angle" of the window inclined inwards to the vertical (think this is what you're asking?) can be adjusted via the glass guides in the door. Pretty sure there is a limited adjustment visible with the door card removed.

The glass guides/channels have a felt/rubber U moulding insert. This attracts muck and grease over the years, and is often a restriction to the speed of 'lift'.

Nick,

This is indeed the problem. With the door open it goes up and down easily.

With the door closed the window gets half way up and then impacts upon the rubber seal on the roll hoop.

So I need to change the angle of the glass. Just want to know its possible before I spend a couple of hours of my life trying.

The lower fixing for the guide will likely have a stack of washers which you will either have to add or subtract from to move the bottom of the guide. If it just has a spacer you may need to replace with said stack of washers.

Many thanks - I had guessed there would be a high-tech adjustment system, but wanted to make sure first.

OK so to update…

Adjusted window runners at every place I could; 4 places in total.

Skin grafting to arms booked for next week - once I've scrubbed the fibreglass out of them.

Windows are just laughing at me, certainly no effing better and possibly worse.

Which idiot designed the bloody things?

If the next TVR is built like this it's effing doomed, I tell you. I have a deposit but my arse they are getting any money if the build quality is like this.

A monkey could've done better. Even I could design this better.

FFS.

Sorry to hear about your woes with your windows. smile Unfortunately Northern Lancashire Monkies did build your original car.jesterrofl

Your comments on TVR build quality will make everyone laugh, as these cars were build by people who lived in Council houses and cheap 3 bed semi's if you were posh !!!, in Blackpool, Cleveleys & Fleetwood, trust me I grew up in one.

by the looks of it the new trevor will be built at the GMD facility in Surrey, and we all know of his reputation and build quality, Mclaren F1 & Merc SLR both fantastic cars.

I thought that also, but after reading the article in Sprint, maybe the first run of cars may be manufactured in Dorking?
