Wheres the best place to get one? i have the 120amp serpentine style, same as the later range rover ones, the one i have has a label with universal on it, but i would like an original Magnetti Merrelli.

I bought mine from Hobson Industries. They upgrade Landrovers for the military. About £100. Brand new, off a new Landie

Magnetti Marelli ERR2479 I think it was. But that's from memory

you can get the original alternators, which are better quality that the modern ones IMHO, stripped and rebuilt with new bearings, resistors etc etc for less than £50. I had mine done last month - a guy in stoeckenchurch bucks
