Are they Prolinx CV joints? Or did they come with the shafts, presumably uprated to handle all that power? scratchchin

Those look like the shouldered driveshafts without the circlip. If so, they are what are fitted to the later cars and are pretty strong as standard.

Gonna do any drag racing Richard?

Hi Jes, not intending to this year as my power is the same as last year and I've only added about 7 kg with bigger wheels & tyres. I'm busy all day on the 18th in any case but I'll look forward to seeing you at our first round, mine's at Rockingham, where's yours?

Interesting.

Does this mean my 2000 year car possibly has these drive shafts as standard or are we talking the later T cars etc.

Seasons drwing closer, the air of excitement and anticipation still gives me a knot in my stomach and I don't even race biglaugh

Can't make rockingham and have no others booked yet. I am struggling with time this year.

Yours will have the later, stronger drive shafts Alun.

They seem to be so strong that even while dragracing, raising the revs to the max against the rev limiter and dumping the clutch with sticky drag tyres, they never snapped .

Excellent.
Just looking at the two designs it's not rocket science.

Diffs staying in a bit longer at this rate hehe
5000 revs,,, unreal grip.
T1R's 2000 revs and spinning like a top in first send second,,, Hmmm 13.1 was actually really fast,,,,,,, scratchchin

Mines a 2000 car and had the inner circlip grooved shafts as standard (not now though). I'm surprised to learn that some cars may be different as I've seen even later cars with the same shafts scratchchin

Hmmm. With my 300 hp and 360 ft lb torque I'm not likely to snap em I suppose.

Thanks Mac I should be replacing my Dif soon enough, if we have time I'll try to determine what mine are.
