N7GTX,

Thanks for posting your experiences with ClassicLine/ERS.

How a broker deals with a claim is the real test of decent insurance. I have been lucky in 15 years to have never made a claim.

What experience have owners had when making a claim through the popular Classic car insurance brokers:

Adrian Flux, ClassicLine, Mannings, etc.

I am currently with ClassicLine but will certainly look more widely at renewal time

We are insured through ERS via Adrian Flux and after a short-sighted (or texting) young girl used us as a stop reminder at a junction last year our experience couldn't be more different . The engineers report was completed in days and the repair was ready in around three weeks from the accident after us stessing the point that we had a driving holiday booked for the car. I paid the excess up front to speed things up and got the full amount back several weeks later. The claim was passed to a third party handler the name of whom escapes me so I guess it's the luck of the draw who processes your claim. I'm not denying there will be bad experiences but I'd guess that could apply to any, or certainly most, insurance companies.

This is making my insurance look good.
Manning, both when I had a bump which cost thousands and then again when my windscreen was chipped to the point of being dangerous. No quibbles, no photos just choose my preferred repairer and take the car to them.
I had a bump on the Saturday by the Tuesday my car was in the bodyshop and they took care of the rest.

My premium hasn't risen by much and the bump was 4 years ago. Slightly more expensive than other policies but includes trackday and foreign travel for upto 3 months at a time so I'm happy enough.
It'll be interesting what my premium will be this year what with recent news insurance is going up considerably.
Minor bumps costing more to repair because of warning sensors and the like on modern cars, bull crap but hey!
Same here for Mannings. Had an idiot hit the back of my bright yellow chim at traffic lights, £5k damage. Mannings were great. Whilst the chim was getting repaired i bought a Tamora. 3 weeks later(me being an idiot ) on the same road i skidded into the back of a car
£10k damage to the Tamora .No quibbles off Mannings.

I seem to be accident prone like Mart63 rolleyes In February my works van was written off after another white van man drove into the back of me. His insurer was Hastings Direct who are notorious for slow claim handling (apparently). My broker took up the claim - insurance company was Covea - and I had a loan van within 4 hours. Within 24 hours the assessor visited me at home and inspected the damage. And within 3 weeks the claim was finished and I received payment. smile

I have just had a rant at Darren Ansell, ops director at Classicline. He was at their stand at Burghley so lucky for him I did not know this....
I have cancelled the claim and started the complaints process. Renewal due within 4 weeks too. mad
