I've stripped out the complete rear end of the cerb, but I can't get to the rear diff bush to remove it. Any ideas ?

Thanks, looks like it's gonna be one of those jobs- I was hoping to see if anyone had an easy way of doing it but like most jobs on the TVR it's gonna be a b*****d!!

The easiest way I've found of doing it (I've done two now) is by paying someone else to do it. smile

Hole saw to remove the rubber then hacksaw to cut through the metal sleeve. Probably an hours work if you have the right tools and technique.

I didn't do it this way and it took 6 hours, even with everything from the rear end removed except the body. Learn from my mistake.

I made a drift to the correct size and got it out in minutes. The tool was doing rounds with members but lost track of it. Someone has it. But made the job easier. The problem with cutting the outer sleeve is it's very easy to start sawing into the actual chassis, a nice sharp cold chisel works well as you can cave the bush out sleeve in

I removed all the other bushes drilling around the rubber, knocking out the centre and as previously stated knocked out the outer shell with a blunt chisel but this won't happen on the diff one due to access.
So first plan of attack is use a hole cutter with an extension bar through the chassis, when I'm next in the shed I'll let you know how I got on

It's not lost I still have it, and I can return it or lend it to the next lucky owner.

My car still bears the scar from the sledgehammer too...
