I've got a good mate who does tyres 260 squids for all 4 and those rears are 255/35 18's biggrin so I was a happy chappie thumbup and this car is over tyre'd IMO (a BMW trait) even if it does out handle the Tiv on our UK roads cry

Had to say goodby to my lovely rear Rainsport 2s today frown., what a truly great tyre they were, and still are, as they remain on the front of 'Ol Gasbag'.

The 2s had a brilliantly long life, but no tyre lasts forever so I slapped a set of the new Rainsport 3s on the rear.

Lets see if I like them scratchchin

Weird tread design...

But I'm assured this is how they should be fitted.

Do you have any more pics. Looks like the tyre is a bit narrow for the wheel !

There doesn't seem much point in comparing as I'm on 17 x 7.5 in wheels allround
But here's mine on Rainsports
F 215/45/17

R 235/45/17

Both tyre's fill the wheel and in fact overhang so stopping me curbing the rims. Hmmm scratchchin
sorry mate i have to say worse wheels i have ever seen on a Chimbangheadgetmecoat

Terrible ain’t they.
But I kinda like them smile
And I’ve not curbed them since putting these tyre’s on.

I thought that when I recently put a set on my Mini Cooper S. Always thought assymetrics had the classic linear tread on the outside for loaded grip in cornering and the diagonals inboard for water displacement. They handle perfectly though smile

I now liken my Chim to a beat up old Mini I drove many years ago that still has a place in my heart, not quite but it’s now very go cart like.
Must be great fun with these tyre’s on the Cooper S.

Interesting using the 2 and 3 together Dave.
Your weight and balance transfer is slightly more rear biased I’d assume and often in a very good way so as the only info I can go on is an old mates experience, the 3’s should be just the job hopefully smile
