Looking amazing !!!

If the car is still running on 14CUX and standard ignition, the most remarkable transformation you'll get is moving to a third party ECU and adding mappable ignition with coil packs etc.

The difference will blow you away wink

I went with Megasquirt (MS2) and don't regret it.

They do a full kit which uses the existing TVR loom:

http://www.extraefi.co.uk/products/RV8_kits.html

If you're thinking of going this route, speak to Shaun O'Donnel : 0789 151 2664 - the man is a wizard, and his prices are very reasonable. What he doesn't know about Rover V8's isn't worth knowing.

Here's mine:

Shaun also makes a custom loom which helps if you dont want to use the existing.

Really nice to see a TVR given a proper reimagining.

Also talk to Powers Performance and Kits and Classics for both MBE and Emerald Ecu options.
Both companies having great expertise in tuning powerful TVR.

If Tvr were building cars today maybe this is what they’d look like.
Infinite options.
I know the original o/e brigade might gasp but I’ve come to appreciate these personalised cars and all the effort that goes into them.

Have you ever restored a car before Charles?

You must be having some fun researching and then seeing this come together.
Wheels look really good too. Tasteful which is difficult when everything’s orange biggrin

I see a universal type wheel spacer in one of your pictures.
It’s a small detail but considering the quality of the build look for concentric wheel spacers or ask your builder to source some. Very inexpensive
They are a preferred option and less likely to get out of balance and a lot easier to use when taking wheels on and off. They stay centred better basically.

Great job.

I must admit to leaning towards kits and classics when it’s time..however I do like to research so all options will be considered..nice to have options!

No, never restored a car before..heavily modified an Audi but obviously not anything like this!

Agree about the wheels as I was concerned it was an expensive gamble really..photoshopping and getting colours from the website..there wasn’t an abundance of knowledge from the seller either!!

I must admit that I love the researching and reading years old threads..it’s great fun.

Take your point about the spacers as well..thanks! thumbup

Echo this, my old chim had proper ones machined up in uk, if the alloy is too soft like the cheaper ones they squash over time with lots of power & heat, which is not good.

If you get them machined in billet (and they are thick enough) you have the advantage of being able to have a different stud pattern, they ‘can’ bolt to existing hubs and tyen have a seperate bolt pattern machined in, seen it done but not sure on more powerful cars, tho the chim is light.

I ordered a new wiper scuttle which unfortunately didn’t fit and couldn’t be altered slightly, as the shape was incorrect plus the wiper holes in the wrong orientation..so I got a local metal fabricator to make one to my design..picked it up earlier..very pleased!

Nice job. Black suits your colour scheme nicely.
As we are talking bespoke parts…..
For those with a lighter body colour or like me enjoy classic styling you could always get a stainless steel one made similar to this.
This came from Germany a good decade ago and still mint.
Company now defunct I believe but it wouldn’t be hard to use an original as a template and get one cut.
Just another option really. I like it smile

So with the seats ordered and the interior agreed..it was sit and wait time..time to consider the engine bay

Lots to improve upon there!!

My attention also turned to the wheels…although they were SP12s I didn’t like the black..so I started to go down the new wheel rabbit hole..I read nearly every thread on here regarding off sets and sizes..using the will they fit site coupled with the collective PH knowledge I decided to stay to the SP12 sizes and offset..then I had to find some wheels that actually fitted and I thought fitted with my ideas - not an easy task!!

After many hours of poorly photo shopped wheels..here’s a couple:

In the end I ordered some bespoke Work Wheels from Japan..exactly the same spec as the SP12 but in a colour way that I liked..again sit and wait time as it was 3-4 months delivery!

The registration of V503 DBY was the next thing to consider..at first I thought it ok but I gradually went off it!

After some excellent communication with fellow PHer - 2smokingbarrells - I purchased the one he had on retention! Thanks again to him..a true gent to deal with!

What are the 5 spoke wheels in the pics ?

It's an amazing "Resto Mod" Charlie! I would like to consider that you have merely followed the ethos of TVR and some of their wilder colour schemes. The quality of everything looks amazing!

Just out of interest, what kind of dampers did you go for? I can't work it out from the colour.

Thanks Mark..appreciate your comment!

Yes, I agree that it’s all done with the TVR spirit at the heart of things!

They’re Protech, to the garages spec I’m told!!
