None on mine, although that does mean that I have to stuff a freezer back in each door when leaving the car in the rain...

Mine does !

It didn't use to when I 1st got the car and it was always leaking.
Ever since they were fitted the car has stayed dry no matter how bad the rain is.
Mind you, that could just be down to me knowing the best way to seal the velcro down now.

Big Al. said:

The two flappy pieces of rubber affectionately known as Elephant ears.
Look like this (this one has torn off, it should be abot 15 mm taller along the ragged edge.

Pictures courtesy of Rod Cox.

Do you have a set of these on your car?

What do they do? Stop water ingression into the cockpit around the targa hoop hinge?

Do I need them.... Debatable!

I was asked where can you get them?

Well AFAIA you can't! But you CAN make them yourself!

If you have an existing one as a pattern let get some thin, 1/16 thick neoprene rubber (or inner tube) and cut some new ones.
If you don't have a pattern send me a mail with you address and I will send you one. The pattern is courtesy of Brian at Fernhursts.

Fitment isn't that easy to describe so I'll take the liberty and post a few more pictures from Rod Cox to assist me here.

The picture above shows an approximate position for the ear, but it needs moving up under the hood material see next pic. with hood material pulled away form the hoop rubber and upwards to allow for gluing.

The hood material then laps back over the ear to leave just the lobe of the ear showing. The hood material is then glued back into its original position, with the hoop rubber. The ear lobe should not cover the Velcro hook strip. The last pic shows the relative position of the lobe with the door closed.

Well I hope this is of some use to you Guy’s and Girls, it’s been a bl**dy nightmare to compose.

Hope it helps and solves the mystery.
