Hi James,
Practice the grin.... It'll be less painful in the long run.

IMO about 1000 to 1500 a year.
A Good service, and FEW quid for other eventualities.

Big Al.

I've had a couple of "good" services coming close to £1500 in themselves. £1200-£1500 feels a little light, maybe £2000 would be a more realistic figure to budget for.

If you're in Oxfordshire and use HH - your servicing bills might seem nearer the high end.

The bottom line is RESEARCH and RESEARCH HERE!

Thats about £1500 on fuel
£ 30 on oil
£ 350 on service independant specialist
£ 500 on tyres set only lasted 8000 miles
£ 441 on insurance (my premium)
£ 170 on Tax
£ 30 on Mot
----
£3021 thats without anything going wrong.

And somethings guaranteed to go wrong eventually !.

I bought an AA Warranty and that paid for the Meta alarm going belly-up!

I love the MOT 30 squid - mine was £36.50, the cheapest MOT I've ever come across!

You can get MOT'S for £19.95 down here, but there guaranteed to find something wrong, they price the MOTS low hoping that they can get work out of it afterwards, i spoke to a chap in one place and he said "9 out of 10 cars fail the mot mate" sounded dodgy so i drove off.

The tyres were bridgestone RE71's all round, the rear treads dissappeared after about 7000 miles, and the fronts started to split all the way round the inner tread with 6mm still left on them, changed them as they looked dangerous for a 150mph car.

Jimi,

Just updated my profile and it looks like I am averaging your sort of milage and I am at about £350 / month all in over 18 months. Profile here for details, however this is my second car not my day car . Factor in at least 3k miles per year for PH/TVRCC events. At 9k mls/year you will be looking at 3 services every 2 years so about £500 average per service at dealer prices (two services/year if you had not factored for events !).

Matt

Could have something to do with all the other stuff you have entered from 2000/2001 - that will up the costs a bit .

Also only 1135 mls in six months makes the cost per mile a bit high ! Do you use it every day as per your profile or do you use the Saxo ?
