quite simply does anybody in the republic of ireland own a chimaera.Been here six months not seen one,in fact not seen any.Ask about them and get blank looks i.e insurance/servicing.Wanting to buy but am a little worried that any little jobs will force me to cross the channel. Can anybody shed any light on this?

Would the car club be any help in this?

Hi Tony
there is a red 500 (uk reg) in Drogheda i've seen, a silver/blue tuscan in Dublin and my silver Chimaera has been burbling around Dublin the odd time.
Large(ish) following in the North (Tuscans,Chimaera's,Giffs etc) good social life and one great track days at Kirkistown.

Work in Ireland ,and occaisionally take the Chimaera over . Will be taking the 400SE over as soon as I get it back just for a visit .

With the insurance costs in Ireland , would think it would be prohibitively expensive unless you have very deep pockets.

What's insurance? Isn't that an optional extra in Ireland?

We have those deep pockets to keep our shillelaghs and pint bottles of Guinness in.

Yes we have lots of Chimaera over here there is even one for sale here as well.

Give me an email and I will fill you in with TVR Ireland information.

Love to Colin L, been over on 4 previous occasions but never in the Chim, nor up north.

Could be two firsts in one go.

So I might take you up on a pint of the black stuff one of these days.

Until we meet, safe driving and keep it shiny side up.

Colin ,
You will probably hear the Wedge rumble off the Seacat at Dunlaerghair (Never can spell it !You know where I mean )end of June beginning of July .

Neil,

It's spelt Dun Laoghaire - our Southern friends always did have trouble with their bowels - sorry vowels. Never worry though there's no vowels in TVR.

Neil, if you can make it to Kirkistown on the 5th July for the Track day in the Wedge, you will be given an Irish price reduction.
We have had no wedge on the track over here for 6 years.
Come on up and put a big on all our faces.

Don't listen to him - an Irish price reduction means you'd be charged twice. Once in Euros and once in Sterling.

Only joking - be great to see a wedge on the track.

Colin , it's all in the hands of Peninsula , I'm chomping at the bit to get the fire breathing monster back ! Mind you to put it on a track ,it will have to be muted , ACT ad ons and a (loud) sports exhaust will make it a tad too throaty !!

Have just spoken to Peninsula . The man from Del Monte says YES!!!!

Should have Wedge back 26/27th June , which means I should be dodging Gardai instead of bobbies the following week , and taking a sedate drive round Kirkistown on the 5th July !!
