Whilst washing the car today, broke the connection to the washer tube on the wiper blade. Does anyone know if the part that is in the body is all one piece with the tube pushed onto it or is there a small connecting pipe between them?

I think and I'm not too sure of this, the tube is connected under the grill. IIRC from the bible that’s dash out territory!
Hope I’m wrong.

Is the Chimerea different to the Griff? I replaced my wipers recently, and the tube was glued to the wiper, but the bit that attached to the body just slipped over a plastic nipple bonded to the car.

Is yours different? does the rubber attach onto a nipple, it could be worth a look.

I had a good look yesterday and it is put together like this. The tube comes from the washer bottle and is split into two with a T piece within the bulkhead one tube to each wiper arm. The washer tubes are connected to the tubes on the wiper arms with a plastic connector housed in a rubber grommet. If the washer tube drops into the bulkhead (as in my case the n/s one)) you can access it via an inspection hole under the bulkhead just behind the bonnet catch. I had to pull the tube back through the hole then push a strong wire through the hole in the bulkhead to the inspection hole, tape the tube to the wire and then pull the tube back to it's hole in the bulkhead. So it is not a dash out job. The inspection hole is covered by a rubber flap which will require glueing back into position. Connectors are available from David Gerald at £1.61 each, they say the grommets are standard and are not stocked. Hope this is of some help to any of you that may get the same problem as on inspection it was obvious the connector had perished due to it being eleven years old.

Sounds as if someone has modified the car. This is not standard at all. The problem with cutting this hole is knowing exactly where to make it and making sure that it doesn't leak afterwards.

Hi Steve,on inspection it looks as though you are right. Someone must have had trouble before. The position of the hole is below the o/s washer and it is no more difficult to seal than all the other holes in the body work.

I cut a similar inspection hole in my last griff, under the n/s wiper, when I had to replace a broken connector-then just screwed a coverplate in place and sealed it all up.The factory told me that's the quick way that they do the job as well.
