The Hot/Cold control on my Chim does not seem to be working correctly.....in other words, it only blows out hot air.

The only way i can get cold air into the cabin is by using the separate blower control on the drivers side and this blows cold air out of the offside air vent only.

Its not a major problem as i drive most of the time with the hood down.

Any ideas anyone ?

Does the dial that should control the flow of air over the heater matrix feel like it's connected and doing something when you turn it? Or does it just go round and round with no feeling of resistance? If the latter then it's probably the cable that has become disconnected/broken.

Removing the top of the dash (or rather lifting it up) is covered in a previous thread. A PHer has a website with info on this including piccies - you should be able to find this using the search facility.

Tony,

I have to ram mine all the way to the right (oo-er missus) to get cold air otherwise it blows varying shades of warm.

I find the higher the fan speed the cooler the air.

Maybe yours just needs a tweak?

Thanks for the advice.

There is definatley resistance on the cable and the dial only goes from stop to stop........i will play with it later.

Mine seems to have only two settings: 'Hot' and 'Fcuking Hot'!!!

And the fans? Range from 'Off' to 'A Very Slight Movement of Air'

Don't you love TVRs?!

Blimey - I've had to superglue my toupe (is that how you spell it?) in place as the fans blow it off

You wanna check the pipes are properly connected to the vents (mine weren't on the driver's side when I got the car)

That about sums it up especially during this warm weather.

Thinking of calibrating mine to read 9 (left) down to 2 (right)... equating to gas marks on the kitchen oven

If it gets too hot, you could also try switching the A/C on (also known as removing the lid)
