Anyone know of either a tool shop or a specialist or a dealer with a coil spring compressor suitable for the TVR type coilover set up? I live in Brentwood and need to change my dampers but don't have a suitable compressor. Any help glady received - Got some special Koni's made up for me and I'm dying to try them out!

I got Xtreme in Harlow to remove my springs from the old shocks and put them on the new ones... All done free of charge - only took 10 minutes!

They'll only do it on a weekend if you take the shocks off the car yourself though, as they're generally fairly busy...

You'll have no luck anywhere except TVR dealers and specialists. I tried everything from motorbike places to truck servicing garages. The TVR tool is specific (if very very simple).

Two TVR places I went to offered to swap the springs for free, which was very generous.

Be aware though that unless you're going for TVR original dampers then the TVR tool may not fit over the new top caps. The one I used in the end had been modified to work on 3rd party dampers.

Good luck!
