Just noticed a strange noise on my Cimiaera 94 M. It is coming from the drivers side dashboard, by the steering column (right hand side), or possible form the drivers side air vent. Has anyone got any ideas?
Thankyou.
Regards,
Dan

Has the speedo stopped recording miles? ( quiet click every 10th of a mile as the 10ths wheel does not turn over)

I get this as well. Thermal expansion of or around the instruments, usually as heat from the engine bay is transferred through to the dash. Its when they start melting that you should worry about it.

My 94 Chimaera doesn't have a 10ths wheel, but I do get the ticking every 10th of a mile.

ODO and Speedo work fine, for the last 3 years, clicking all the time

Nope, should be due in 11 days time, I have missed it and it will be fun to scare a few of the locals,

How was LM, I watched most of it on the TV, I think I saw more of the race this year than I did last year

I think the early ones are all like that... they don't have the 10ths dial, but still have the mechanism inside, hence the click as it moves. (well mine is as you describe too)

Hi Dan

I too have a clicking sound on my 94. Mine sounds like a relay clicking every 10-15 seconds (Having read the thread I suppose it could be 10ths of a mile!) I took it back to the dealer as I hadn't noticed it on the test drive (excitement I guess) and he said "they all do that" I did wonder how TVR could sell a £30K car to punters who accepted the noise?

I have learn't to live with it as the rest of the car more than makes up for it, plus you can't here it with the roof down!!

maybe he wanted to get the Le Mans camping atmosphere across (ie too many beers leading to dodgy vision)
