I was hooning along this morning and noticed the actual mirror glass of my drivers side wing mirror was wobbling slightly. Thought nothing of it as I assumed it was just the wind shaking it. Anyway, about 5 minutes later I pull up to a roundabout, glanced at my mirror and the glass was hanging off by a piece of wire!!! Luckily they seem to backed by some sort of sticky stuff so I pressed it back into place. Does anyone know what to use to fix it back permanently? I wouldn't want to be driving behind me & get a mirror fly into my windscreen!!!
Cheers
Stew

Mine is just stuck in with double sided sticky pads.

Use water proof pads - I tried some double sided adhesive tape from B&Q but the gluey stuff peeled off the matrix after it a few good soakings. The best solution is the pads they use to stick number plates on.

Send me your address via email and I'll send you some "pukka" stuff next week.

I work in the automotive mirror industry.

Check the sliding lever behind the mirror that holds it in place. Same happened to mine 2 days after I bought it, I stuck it back on with pads but Fernies (rather embarrasingly) showed me how the clip worked.
It does have a tendancy to work loose some how, I often end up moving it back every couple of months.

It's an industry in which management spends little time forward planning because everyone's too busy looking at where they've come from
