does water wetter work
Discussion
so does this stuff work then as its running a bit hot at present with the fans coming on ok nearly 100 deg , im toying with the idea of getting the cooling system kit from levens , ie lower temp stat and otter switch , and the water wetter stuff, engine dont boil over at all and got no leaks it just seems to run very hot..
Just got my new Chim. Slight problem with the temp gauge. It doenst move any higher than about 70 degrees. Now I know in this heat, and the general warmth of the Rover V8, this can't be right. Any ideas how to fix it, or how to get a new gauge fitted. think the speedo gauge stops working at 70mph as well.. Doesn't want to go any further...Not that I would be doing more than 70..you understand.
well now i have changed the stat to a lower 74c one and a new otter switch and a new temp sensor but the gauge still reads about 100/105c and at one point it got as far as about 115c which was just before i changed the above bits , when it got as far as 115 ish it pumped out some coolant cos the fans did not cut in ( faulty fan conectors were to blame), when i leave it idling the fans cut in and out ok but with it showing 100c on the gauge, but what does seem odd is that when i'm on the move at say 70/80 mph i would expect the temp to go down a bit due to having some ram air at the rad but no it stays at 100c or a bit more , could this be a rad fault or a gauging fault , i have a temp sensor on my mutimeter and when attached to the top of the swirl tank as close to the stat as pos it reads 82c when the car gauge is showing 105c , by the way no bubbles in the tank when its hot ( cap off) so i dont think the head gasket is gone and if it had it would pump out all the time, even with the weather this hot i dont think this is right so its either a gauge or the rad and i know the cost of a rad , so whats the gauge going to set me back as ill do the easy bits first.....

so where does the adjustment resistor sit then as i have changed the temp sensor , and is it behind the dash as i will get to the bottom of this thing...
Can be anywhere in line. Usually at the sensor end and is a fixed value. Use an adjustable to trim and then replace with a fixed one.
