It's not until you change the coilovers and fit a set of wheels that are all the same size that you realise what a weird stance these cars have as standard, going to take quite a bit of tweaking to get it looking right and driving well.

compomotives???

Thanks
Re the above - you do need to get the ride heights correct, either by adjusting the ride height itself if you have adjustable dampers, or by fitting rear tyres of the correct aspect ratio.
They are a lot better arse up, and your bonnet may well flap at speed if the rear is too low. Not to speak of the handling - TVR knew what they were doing when they specced the standard car with 15/16 inch wheels.

The RL7 cerb things that were discussed a couple dozen posts ago. Need painting but I wanted to get them fitted right first, going to go up a size on the rear tyres.

Yeah, that photo was taken with the suspension settings for the standard wheels, I wanted to find a bit of a flat surface to set it up. Front has been lowered now but definately need a bigger profile rear tyre.

I would question that, my old Chimaera handled so much better with 16's all round

And mine handles so much better arse up on 15/16s or 17/18s than on my other option, 205/40/17s all round. Horses for courses. Its in for a full geo and change of dampers all round at the moment, so expect to see me visiting a hedge backwards somewhere near you in the very near future as I test the limits!! laugh

Good luck with that, I am going back 10 years or so, I had teh wheels, Nitrons fitted and set up by Steve Guglielmi (of Tuscan challenge fame) was so much nice than the wheelbarrow look

Stand corrected..

I would go with 16 front 17 rear,as 17 on front left the tyre wall to thin compared to the rear

I've just agreed to buy those as seen on the yellow 450 as its a guy local to me. I think they look stunning on the Chimaera and I am a bit of a stickler for originality.

Tbh I much prefer the azev type a wheels, smoother edges work better with the chim imo. I did have a set but couldn't get them to fit quite right without a bit of machine work and in the end went for some comp Mo's instead.

LOVE these wheels but nobody seems to know what they are.

Any ideas?

(Spotted this Chim at Lloyds Specialist Developments about 2months ago on a German plate BTW)
