A fantastic looking car, the colour is simply tremendous (does the colour have a 'name'?) and the wheels suit it perfectly.

That one was fully restored, (body off chassis done etc). Was for sale last year for around £9k.

Well, if the 'inside' is as good as the outside that must have been a steal at 9 grand.

Are they technically 'after-market'? wink
Didn't early Chimaeras come on BBS cross spokes, do look very nice though. rotate

Every time I see those BBS wheels i want some.
What are they like to keep clean? That would be my only worry.....

They are not BBS, only lowly fakes wink

But they are the correct offset and 16" all round.

They have been on the car almost 4 years now and been great. A PITA to keep clean but I make sure they are always topped up with wheel sealant to make it easier, and they are still in mint condition ( I am a tart though and even keep the insides clean and sealed getmecoat )

Thanks - but that's the point, isn't it? Any wheel in that style looks good and looks like the original IMO. And looks stunning

I'm thinking of an upgrade and wondered if a 17 x 8.5 would be too wide for the rear, anyone out there done this?

What tyre width did you have in mind?

That's a good choice if you want the option of a variety of tyre sizes: 225/45/17, 245/40/17 or 255/40/17 eg http://www.toyo.co.uk/tire/pattern/proxes-t1-sport

Was thinking of 245/40/17 - I have Estorils at the moment with 245/45/16

The reason for the extra width is I'm looking at cross spokes like the ones above but wanted a deeper dish effect on the rear.

The dish is down to the design of the wheel more than the width.

My RL7s, even the 9" wide ones have no dish but my Image rear wheels have a deep dish, check my profile for piccies.

Ok I'm almost there now - Final question, front 16 x 7.5 what offset should I be going for?
