You've made several contributions to this thread as have I, they had already been painted by the bloke I won them off on fleabay It's not a joke. Why not have a wild colour? The rest of the car is already silver. These cars are meant to be fun.

Classicline Insurance have been advised that I have fitted 17" alloys, no adjustment to the premium at all, just made a note on my file. They didn't ask for photos, thankfully. wink

To be honest, I doubt I'll keep them on long because of the way they sit in the arches, not the colour. I may even spray my Estorils with plastidip while they're off the car. (Other rubberised paint products are available). Gold probably, maybe orange?

I can see your point since our cars are ludicrous funny cars, but they lean more towards classic sportscar than tuner car. I think the shouty green wheels can take the focus away from the nice looks of the chim. I have gold coloured centers on my split rims, which I thought was hairy at first but now I want to tone them down, maybe to a darker silver, anthrasite ish...

OK, so they're now fitted. 215/40 x 17 seemed hard to get for the front (and pricey round here) so went for 205/45 x 17 on the front and 225/45 x 17 on the rear. The front looks a bit high because it's just come off jacks.

The wheelarches STILL don't seem that full so I can see why people go for 18". Because the rear wheels are only 7" wide and ET38, they are 11mm further into the wheelarch which can't be taken up by spacers alone. I used 3mm on the front to bring the edges out a bit and retain the asymmetric setup of the standard wheels. I'm not sure about them now to be honest but a few people have looked twice already. Drive it in the dark was the response of a so-called friend. Watch your eyes!!

Your choice of colour is your choice....my whole car is plastidipped, so I can hardly join the originality police.
Your spacers - your front offsets should be anywhere between ET25 and ET33, and your rears should be ET33. May I suggest you buy a set of 4 x 5mm spacers and fit them all around? I have done just that with my ET38 wheels and they fit fine. No, they don't look utterly wheel arch filling, but I always remind myself that at least I am not laying a smoke trail around every race track from having the tyres catching on the bodywork.

Just be aware ET isn't as straight forward as it should be this or that..smile

The correct ET is dependant on the wheel width..... So for a 7" wide wheel on the front, ET 25 is fine, but if the front wheel is 7.5" or 8" the ET needs to be adjusted accordingly....

For example if you have a 7" wheel with 25 ET, and replace with an 8" ET 38,,,,,, the outer rim will be in the same place, but the inner wheel... The extra 1" if you like will be on the inside and may catch wishbone on full lock.... Alter the ET and the same wheel may not touch the wishbone, but may now stick outside the body....

There are a few ET calculators on line that can assist

I think pete had trackday rubber on, 255. Trackday rubbers are usually wider than street tires aswell

Slipped these on today, any views welcome. They're Team Dynamics 1.2 (the same as Daz, iirc). 16" fronts, 17" rears.

I got them new from Demon Tweeks, 17" x 8J and 16" x 7J. Not keen on secondhand wheels & tyres unless previous life and owner is known to me.

P.S. fitted with R888s, I will get to a track day / sprint eventually !

Nope, good as gold. Feel only very slightly firmer than stock, but barely any difference in ride quality.
All about the tyre pressures and stock springs and dampers I reconbiggrin
