If your old car is a serpentine engined model these bits should fit the newer car just fine.

Would be very interested to hear from the people who have traded up, if the difference is actually that significant. Am considering this myself in time for next summer and would very interested in what you feel are the main differences.

Andy.

The difference is very signficant, it being that it's much quicker at all revs. :-)

I went from a 4.0 chim to 5.0 griffith.

5.0 is defo quicker, especially the faster you are going - there is a difference from a standing start to, say, 60mph, but the most noticeable difference is when you drop a cog or 2 at that speed and give it some welly.

In fact, the first time I did this, it was on a damp M25 junction as I joined the motorway...3rd gear, 65ish, floored it, and promptly fishtailed along for a good 50 yards. Careless? probably. Naive? Maybe. Scary? Hell yeah.

It's extraordinary how much oomph there is at higher speeds in either 4 or 5l guise - drop it into 4th at 100 and you'll really accelerate - it's just quicker in a 5.

Good grief - what a post just to say:

There's a difference. Try it out.
