Call me a ponce if you want, but I am sick of people taking the piss out of my Mk2?? Astra key. Anyone know where you can get a key cut and stuck in a more interesting holder than a 5mm wide piece of square plastic.

Ideally the key bit would glue into a polished alloy style ball thing with TVR embossed on the side.

Sound sad don't I!!!!

I'd like to wager that the people taking the ps don't drive anything quite as nice as your Tiv

hmm,

a bit of mixture.

the worst are
1) my boss 996 turbo
2) the guy I sit next to at work girly 996 cab
3) one of my best mates, ford vanquish (like he can talk) and a fazza 360.

They all reckon their cars are better!

Bet the Dancing Donkey has a Fiat key - albeit heavily disguised!

Thought it was from a Nova. It's posher than I thought.

Always assumed it was a cunning anti-theft plan on the basis that when the burglars are turning your place over they won't work out that the Fvc£s-All key fits the sports car in the drive.....

You can do this yourself. I have with no ill effects.
When you cut the plastic/rubber off the key you will be able to fit the key into the alarm fob. I cut the alarm case to a rough fit then heated the key to make a final tight fit. The key was then glued inside the alarm fob and finally secured with a 4ba nut and bolt which fits through a hole already in the key. I did mine some 2 years ago and have had no problems. Remember to keep the battery in the alarm fob inners when doing this as it will lose its memory and will rquire resetting.

I was planning on changing my battery to hopefully get a bit more range on the blipper... will it lose memory and require resetting after? If so, how do I reset it?

Just had a look to get one of the combined units and they don't seem to be on the site anymore. Anyone know any other source?

Gosh! How nice of them to let me know after I ordered one from them about a month ago.

Their Customer Services leaves a little to be desired, when the key hadn't turned up after a couple of weeks I dropped them a line, here's the response:

Dear Mr S*****,

Many thanks for your message, just to confirm we do have your order safely. We do not have a delivery date on this item yet but will advise as soon as we can. We do not charge your card until the item is dispatched.

Kind regards,

Chris

Bit of vague news really.

Never mind

Don't be shocked at this kind of reply. Without going to far and pissing off Father Ted, I ordered some mats from them a few years back and they took weeks to arrive after many many calls/emails even though I was promised 3-5 working days on many occasions.

And then only last month my g/f (not knowing about them) ordered something for my birthday. They promised on a couple of occasions that it would be here before the day but two weeks later, still no sign!!

Luckily my g/f always spoils me so I many other presents to open.

In short - They are ...............!!!! (fill your own words in)

Just phoned TVR dealers. Apparently £15 each, but need key code. You just then drop in the old remote internals. 2 week turnaround time.

Are you serious?

If that is the case I'm pleased that TVr Posessions didn't process my order as I think that was nearer the £40 mark!

Get one of these and no one will even notice slipping the key in first!

BTW - It's much bluer than it looks in this photo!
