Do the later Chimaera rear lights fit into the the early, 1993, models.
If so, a straight swop or are mods required?
Also TVR Bodyshop fit them.

Why are the after-burners more expensive than the normal upgrades?
that was meant to be the other way round. Standard is more expensive than after burners, any reason?
Cos there are more of them made and they're less 'bespoke' and I speak b0ll0x.
How much are the upgrades then? I'd have the afterburners every time
The upgrades need glassing in and painting body colour so fitting is expensive, afterburners are just slapped in with a bit of mastic (if you're considering afterburners make sure you see them on a car the same colour car IMHO they look OK on a dark colour, much worse on a light colour)

So are the afterburners just the four lamps inside a unit surrounded by black plastic, or must they be painted. And can a fat-fingered gibbon fit them? I want some anyway!
Yeah, just that, but you dismantle them and paint the black plastic (see PH member Pinkey's profile for pics of his Cerb).
Come to think of it, maybe they come dismantled anyway?! there is a pdf file on Zertec's website which shows all the electical work needed to fit them. I think from memory there are TWO reversing lights and TWO fog lights so obviously you have to change the wiring a bit from the standard Chim set up.
DannyBoyo also has some on his Cooper Green Chim. Maybe try and email Manek as it's his old car and he may still have some pics of it with the afterburners?
I think it needs to be clarified that there are three sorts of rear lights (that I know of): two official TVR and one aftermarket. The early TVR ones are upside down Fiesta units, the later TVR ones have the same outer perspex but are seperate lights with black plastic between them. The aftermarket ones are Zertec's 'afterburners', which are a circular ring of LEDs and quite different.
Not bad for a Griff owner eh?

As the lights are originally from a fiesta you could easily fit the after market lights that are available for the fiesta. I'm sure that horrible magazine for boy racers Maxpower will have some very similar to the afterburners but perhaps half the price? Or even halfwits as they stock parts for the Peugeot gang i'm sure they must also do fiesta units.
