New owner - need new speakers
Discussion
Have a look at the surrey TVRCC site there is an article about replacing front and rear speakers on a Griff.

Select Other on the menu and you should see the article.

Need new front speakers.
Reading the Bible it seems that they have to be an exact fit as the existing speakers.
What are the best replacements and cost.

Umm no they don't have to be an exact fit, it's just if you have Pioneers as I did, then the replacements tend to come with much larger magnet assemblies, which can be a problem in terms of fit. David's 6x9 fitment highlights this issue in it's use of small stilts to fit the speakers. I bought infinity 652i's for the front and they are a very tight squeeze, but do go in. I also bought (I think) Infinity 452i's, the sound is much better and the nice thing about the infinities is that all models have the same sensitivity, so you can mix and match sizes with no problems.
Steve.
If you are reading the second edition of the bible the article in there is the same as the one on the Surrey TVRCC website.
In terms of fit, I choose speakers that where supposed to be an exact fit. They still needed a bit of a wiggle to settle them down though.
