Rusty Chassis Tubes - To steam-clean or not...
Discussion
I see Peninsula are offering a chassis protection deal where they steam-clean off any old waxoyl, have a bit of a scrape at any loose bits of plastic coating, and then re-waxoyl. £75 or so.
Any thoughts on the wisdom of steam-cleaning a TVR chassis?
What about then waxoyling what must be a wet bit of metal straight away?
PS. Mine's a 4 yr old Chimaera, 37000 miles, and virtually all the coating's come off the tubular bits - the wishbones are pretty good though. Dunno why that should be.
