I popped into Halfords to buy the clear side indicators for my Chim, but noticed that they also had the same ones in blue which would blend in perfectly with the cosmos blue paint finish.

Dilemma...I know it's a matter of personal choice, but does anyone think this sounds a really naff thing to do?

Opinions welcome

Not naff but done to personal choice.

Keep hold of the originals though just in case if (God help you) you ever come to sell you can offer the car with or without!

Jess...if you want me to get you some that's no problem. I can either post them to you or bring them along to a meet

I haven't bought any clear ones yet hence this thread...I can't decide on clear or blue

I bought some clear side-repeaters from Halfords (£15) but they didn't fit, so I took them back and bought some from a discount car bits shop (£9) but they didn't fit, so I bought some from TMS (£26 inc delivery) and they were the same brand as the discount shop ones... and obviously didn't fit. So, now I'll be going back to the discount shop for a set, and spend the change on a file to make the hole bigger in the GRP.

thought about it, but the Orange works really well with the blue car colour and sort of enhances it, I think you can go "too plain" with the front myself..

Cheers
Matt.

Matt, where did you buy your clear side indicators from? It seems that the Halfords ones won't fit the Chim in any case so no point going back there

I haven't decided on whether I should change the orange front and rear indicator lenses to clear. I see your point about the orange standing out against the blue, although not on the side of the car!

All the aftermarket side repeaters are cheaply made 'copies' of the original items and therefore may require a little 'fettling' to get them to fit, be it fileing the hole in your wing, or cutting the back of the indicator and sticking them on with double sided tape. Mine actually went on with no problems but it depends whether you've got a Monday or a Friday hole in your wing
