Worth getting the holder as they can melt and a second fuse (just in case). Please put in car as it gets embarassing when the car is recovered all because the fuse you want is in the old coffee jar on the second shelf down in your garage/shed/loft etc.

Hi,

My alternator on my chimaera has gone and i cant find the fuse anywhere, i have looked under neath the chimnaera where it says in the book and there is no fuse there. just behind the starter motor bolted to the chassis? there isnt one on mine!

Its going back to the tvr garage in redhill on saturday as the alternator is still under its 6 month warranty. I have carried out the tests on the alternator and its not giving out any volts! so it is the alternator!!

Cheers

Dale

I've seen this on a couple of cars but I am not sure if the fuse was deliberately removed and the single piece wire fitted. The whole idea behind it is to prevent damage if the alternator s/c but it is not used on many cars anyway.

On the bright side, it is one less thing to check but on the down side, the alternator is more expensive than 60 p to fix.
