Before I lie in the passanger foot well with a spanner and a pair of calipers, does anyone know the size of bolt used on the battery terminals?

I need to get a couple of eye crimp connectors so I can fix a perminent connector for a battery conditioner...

TIA!

It could be 10mm or 3/8. I might not be though. Surely you can just get a handful of spanners and find the right one?

Acutally, if you're fitting a battery conditioner get a ciggy lighter socket adapter on an Optimate charger.

The spanner is the easy part! It's knowing the size of the eye on the crimp connector.

I guess I'll be able to prvide the answer in the morning...

Half inch AF on mine, and this size seems to be a universal standard. So 1/2" or 13mm spanner will do the trick. You should find the bolt has a square head which can't spin in the clamp, so you only need one spanner.

It's the size of the shank I'm after!

I've lots of spanners so the nut size is not a problem.

I need to get a couple of eye connectors to put on the bolt to make an electrical connection.

Survey (of 1) says 8mm.

I've got a ciggie lighter adapter and the conditioner is now doing it's thing.

As the largest crimp eye I can find is 6.7mm (just over 1/2") I'll have to drill a couple out so I can fit the perminant conditioner connector.

More searching comes up with Maplin part CN93B - a pack of two gold plated 8 mm crimp ring terminals. Intented for the ICE market but just the job for me.

I may be too late for this but the easiest way to access the battery is

1. Get undr the battery (and under the car) and undo the 2 13mm bolts holding int he battery box

2. list the mat in the footwell

3 drag the battery box back by 18" giving you easy access

Although if it's only a conditioner the other sugegstions of using the fag lighter are good or if you wanted to go a bit further Leven Tech (I think) do a set of jump starting terminals that you fit in the engine bay
