I thought that the loss was more like 20%.

......and I always thought it was more of an absolute figure, dependant on the weather, R-road and car drivetrain but typically 40 to 50+ (ish) bhp, with every road having slightly differnet 'corrected' readings. As has already been said wheel figures are poss a better indicator and tend to be more standard between R-roads IMHO.
AFAIK good/typical wheel figures are around 160-170 bhp for 4ltr's and 210-220 bhp for 5ltr's, again IMHO.

But since TVR and all (?) other manufacturers quote flywheel figures knowing the flywheel output of my car is useful because I can compare it with what the manufacturer states for the vehicle. I'd still like an 'at the wheels' figure as well of course.

The magic numbers are
Engine output 218 BHP
Wheel output 161.5 BHP
Max power @ 5450rpm
Torque 233 lb-ft
