A very dead chim (sob)
Discussion
Ah, interesting. I know that my griff 99 has the three circiuts as i have had to bypass for now. Knowing how simple it was made me wonder though.
David, On the early Chim (93/94), believe that ignition and fuel pump are "immobilsed" - where and how, are not an issue. The Third circuit was the fuel guage, not starter motor. This was to "fool" wannabe tealeaves that Chim didn't have any fuel !!
I say "believe" 'cause I've had my fill of my '93 Chim and its "standard" alarm and what it immobilises for "real". The starter motor is not part of the standard alarm circuit.

I had this same problem with mine when on Anglessey in a big storm. Water had managed to enter the car and was somehow (due to sideways wind and rain I guess) getting right onto the top of the relay board, and puddling around the ECU.
Having feared the worst, I dried everything out and removed and replaced every fuse and relay, and it came back to life, although the battery for some reason was pretty knackered by all this and I needed to jump start it to get it running (and then replace the battery).
One thing I found out whilst messing around with the battery, was that by connecting another good battery to the original terminals with some jump-leads, the original one was somehow that knackered that it was just absorbing the voltage and none was getting to to the car when trying to start it up.. most confusing at the time.
Cheers,
Matt.

The "clunk" sounds like a duff battery to me. With so much water around and shorting a posibility has the battery been virtually flattened at some point, if so it is unlikely to be any good again.
Indeed I agree... having re-read my post I realise that I didn't really underline that point.
Matt.
If you read my original post you will see that the battery on the car is now brand new. Fitted by the AA man. Spoke to the guys at TVR in coventry, and they think its a special black box that fits on top of the battery thats knacked. A new one is in the post to me.
Remeber I have a Pre-serp Chimaera, so the electrics on mine are very different to most.
Please keep the ideas coming.

The car is now turning over (starter motor is not the problem), but it won't fire up.
Like I said in my original post, the fuel pump had been priming for a one and a half days. Is this the response the car should give if the engine is totally flooded with petrol, or am I now looking at an ecu fault ?
Please help
